The Federal Government of Nigeria has categorically dismissed allegations by the Nigerien authorities accusing Nigerian security forces, in collaboration with foreign entities, of orchestrating an attack on the Niger-Benin oil pipeline in Gaya, Dosso Region, on December 13, 2024.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Acting Spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa described the claims as baseless and emphasized Nigeria's unwavering commitment to combating terrorism. The Nigerian government reiterated its commitment to maintaining peaceful and cooperative relations with the Republic of Niger and all neighboring states.
“Our relationship with France has always been characterized by mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs,” the statement emphasized.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its dedication to exploring peaceful avenues for fostering stronger ties with Niger, underscoring the importance of collaboration for the mutual benefit of the citizens of both nations.
